Become a Mentor

Become a Mentor

You’ve made it into Medicine – you could be the reason someone else does too!

If you’re currently in medical school, or recently graduated, you are already in a position to help someone behind you.

You don’t need to be an expert.

You just need to have been through the journey, and be keen to pay it forward.

What Mentoring Looks Like

As a mentor, you’ll be matched with a mentee who is earlier in the journey.

Your role is simple:

  • share your experience
  • answer questions
  • offer guidance and reassurance

That’s it.

No teaching. No pressure. No formal training required.

You do not need:

  • formal teaching experience
  • special qualifications
  • to be “top of your cohort”

If you’ve successfully navigated the application process and are currently in medical school — you are 100% qualified.

Why Become a Mentor?

  • Pay it forward to the next generation
  • Help reduce inequality in access to medicine
  • Build mentoring and communication skills
  • Contribute to cultural change in medicine
  • Be part of a national community

What You’ll Get

  • A matched mentee
  • Flexible, low-commitment mentoring
  • Certificate of recognition to add to your CV
  • Opportunity to be involved in future Med Mentors initiatives

This isn’t about being perfect.
